Honorees, their parents and other guests of the Braves 400 Fan Club's annual High School All-Star luncheon were treated to an inspiring and motivating message delivered by the Atlanta Braves Executive Vice-President and General Manager, Frank Wren. He spoke about the absolute requirement of a real passion for the game, when pursuing a career in baseball, if they were to succeed. He spoke of his own playing career and subsequent move to the front office. He praised the young athletes on their accomplishments and challenged them to continue their pursuits with enthusiasm, with determination and to be the best they can be. Wren commented about the high number of fine young ballplayers that are drafted from Georgia in the baseball draft each year due to the great programs and facilities. He started by congratulating the parents of the honorees for their dedication to their young men and providing the guidance that got them to this point in their life. As has been the case for many years, the High School All-Star Selection Committee did an outstanding job and found the very best of the area baseball players.
