Wes Helms - Richmond Braves


Rotator cuff surgery forced Helms to miss most of the 1999 season, but he returned with a vengeance in 2000.

Playing at (AAA) Richmond, the 24 year-old Helms achieved a career best in average (.288), home runs (20), and RBI (88). He batted .314 with runners in scoring position.

Wes Helms won the Tommie Aaron Memorial Award as the MVP of the R-Braves in 2000. Recently married, Wes lives in Gastonia, NC.
