Bobby Cox is the all-time winningest manager in Braves franchise history. He ranks 13th in wins among all managers in history and will move into 12th place in 2001. Additionally, his 55 post-season victories are the most in baseball history.

Cox's second term in the Atlanta dugout began in mid-1990. He also managed the Braves from 1978-81. After four years in the Toronto dugout, he returned to Atlanta as general manager in 1986 when he started to stockpile young talent that has served the organization so well the last 10 seasons.

The Braves' current run on nine consecutive division titles is unprecedented in baseball, and has been matched in professional sports only by two NBA teams: the Boston Celtics (1957-65) and the Los Angeles Lakers (1982-90).

Cox has also led the Braves to five NL pennants and the 1995 World Championship. His 1998 team won a franchise-record 106 games. Over the past 10 seasons, the Braves have won 955 games, 84 more than the next-closest team (Yankees).

He was named Major League Manager of the Year by AP in 1991 and NL Manager of the year by the BBWAA in 1991 and by the Sporting News in 1991, '93, and '99.
