Twenty faithful members of the club motored their way down to Montgomery, Alabama to support our Mississippi Braves in a weekend series against the Montgomery Biscuits. The group stayed at the same motel as the Braves did, and provided those so inclined an opportunity to seek out the players for autographs. Montgomery proved to be a great destination as the town was warm, hospitable and easily navigated. The staff at the Biscuits helped tremendously by responding to all of our requests, and providing valuable recommendations.

Prior to Saturday's game the group enjoyed a meal at the Montgomery Brewing Company (Brewpub) which is conveniently located directly across the street from the ball park. After the meal, a short walk put everyone into Riverwalk Stadium for the (extra inning) game. The stadium is located in an historic downtown area and much like the ball park in Cincinnati has a mode of transportation directly beyond the fences. During the games freight trains can be seen beyond the center and left field walls. Unfortunately, on Saturday the Braves lost in ten innings, 3-2.

Sunday was spent touring the capitol city prior to the late afternoon game. Our plans were somewhat changed by a "lady" named Katrina. In order to avoid possible delays in our return to Atlanta, the group made a decision to leave the game and Montgomery earlier than originally planned. It was felt that the roadways would be jammed with evacuees fleeing the gulf coast and the effects of the storm. It was not until we were able to check the Biscuits web site that we learned the Braves lost Sunday's game as well.
