Major League Road Trip - Braves vs. Cleveland Indians, June 15-17, 2007

Once again our Club's Trip Coordinator transformed a suggested visit to a baseball destination into a memorable weekend trip.  This time the destination was Cleveland, Ohio's Jacob's Field and what a wonderful time we had while there.

Over thirty members of the Braves 400 Club were able to take advantage of this year's Major League trip to see the Braves play on the road.

The first event of the trip was an arrival buffet meal at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.  The food and service were up to the standards of what one considers when the Ritz-Carlton name is mentioned.  After the meal Club members walked the short distance to Jacob's Field (The Jake) to watch our Braves take the opener against the Indians.  The seats were in the upper level behind home plate, and once you overcame the thin air there was no problem (just joking Rick).

On Saturday, travelers were entertained by a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a traveling exhibit about baseball and its meaning to America.  Later, at the ball park, seating for the game was in the Club Level and included all of the food, concession goodies (popcorn, peanuts, etc.) and non-alcohol beverages you wanted to consume.  It was great! Oh, and by the way, the game was also won by the Braves.

Sunday's game was played in the afternoon, and the seats (in right-center) were in the sun.  It was a "bit warm"!  A pre-game picnic type meal was provided.  The meal was great and plentiful.  The only SNAFU for the entire trip was experienced by those that traveled by air.  There were problems with the luggage handling upon the arrival back home in Atlanta.  So, what's new?
