The first Braves 400 Club luncheon of 2006 was held on Tuesday, May 16th in the 755 Club at Turner Field. The guest of honor and speaker was bench coach Pat Corrales.

The luncheon began with the invocation given by the Reverend David Collins. After a very nice meal the program began with club president Wayne Coleman making general club announcements and then the introduction of Coach Corrales.

Presented the Club's Luke Appling Nostalgia Award at the Gameboree in February, Pat demonstrated why the award was presented to him. He spoke of his days both as a player and manager before accepting an offer from Bobby Cox to join him on the Braves staff.

As a catcher in the major leagues he caught many of the game's premier pitchers, notably Steve Carlton, Lew Burdette and Bob Gibson. He reminded the attendees concerned about what appears to be a slow start by the 2006 Braves team that the Braves only had a fast start in one year of their fourteen consecutive division title years. After his remarks, Pat opened the floor for questions.
