Pete Van Wieren Award Night 8/9/2005 In what hopefully was a surprise to him, Pete Van Wieren was told to go to the field for a pregame award presentation only to find out that he was the recipient of that award. The Braves 400 Club in an effort to show appreciation for his continued support of, and his many contributions to, the success of the organization decided upon the award at a recent Board of Directors meeting. The award, in the form of a custom-designed glass broadcaster's microphone, was presented to Van Wieren by club president John Padgett prior to the game between the Atlanta Braves and the San Francisco Giants on August 9, 2005. The inscription on the trophy reads, "To a Special Friend in Recognition of Your Contributions to the Success of the Braves 400 Club".
